The Inception
It’s incredible how God whispers into and stirs your spirit with an assignment designed to spiritually mature you, inspire others with His word, and glorify Him, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. When a sister in Christ said she needed all the devotion cards I placed on the table at our women’s bible study, I taught that June summer night. I knew the Holy Spirit was prompting me to write this devotion book and journal. Immediately, the journey tested me to understand that I am waiting for none other than my magnificent God, persevering only in the Son with courageous confidence in the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
The Introduction
Unfortunately, waiting for many people is sitting idly, expecting an event to happen. On the contrary, waiting, hoping, looking, or expecting demands action and requires patience. Therefore, if we plant the seed of humility into our hearts and remain attentive to the voice God, we will see His blessings and divine favor flow with us through every adventure, disappointment, or expectation of our lives. We experience peace in our obedience, become attentive listeners to His whispers, and insist upon trusting in His faithfulness. We wait for God differently, for we wait for Him in the Son.
The Journal
Each time I find my patience for people or circumstances spiraling into an abyss, the Lord brings me back to the written words in this devotion. As you read each one and the scriptures, journal the revelation of your waiting habits and what His Word encapsulates and permeates your mind, heart, and spirit as you await the manifestation of your desire or expectation. Arise and praise His goodness, deliverance, and faithfulness continuously. Remain in His righteousness, and relish in His love, mercy, and grace, clothing yourself with peace while waiting for God in the Son.
ABOUT WAITING
Much like you, time takes hold of my life and insists I wait for life’s desires. I love the Lord our God, and while crafting the words in this devotional, I’ve discovered my waiting weaknesses and faults. And yes, they cause me to live seasons of my life in a delusional timetable with visually impaired expectations. I learned that it’s not me, someone, an item, or an experience I found myself waiting for, I was waiting for God. And only when I submitted to His obedience and trusted Him to guide me through, did I find His overflowing peace and abundant grace within my circumstance.
I am still learning how to accept the art of tolerating an unexpected or extended delay. None of us are alone on this journey. Therefore, ready your thoughts and the desires of your heart to line up with the will and ways of God. The absence of transparency is real. Nevertheless, we serve a righteous and loving God packed with faithfulness who knew and created us before the foundation of the world.
Join me in a spiritual transformation requiring enormous strength and resilience to learn, with a committed purpose, how to wait, hope, expect and look for God as you encounter His divine favor and blessings in the Son.
